Misty is mom to 12 year old Savannah and 10 year old Braedon. She has been with her husband Ed for 24 years.
She currently works in the Health, Sports and Science Department at the University of Louisville. She is also a Certified Group Fit and Star 3 Spinning Instructor and has been for 9 years.
A leisure cyclist, Misty watched her first Cyclocross Race in 2009 and had a burning desire to want to do that sport, but 4 months later, in January of 2010, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer and that kind of put things on hold. Surgery and treatments went well, only to have one more set back. That same year, 2 weeks before Christmas, Misty had to have yet another surgery.
Today, not only is she 9 months remission, but she is racing Cyclocross! She says she loves the zaniness of the sport! She also competed in the Short Track Mountain Bike Series over the summer and landed her the 2nd place position in the overall Championship Finale!
Misty loves being outside and Fall is her favorite season! She LOVES camping, bonfires, music, dancing, loves to cook and entertain and laugh!
You can pretty much catch her smiling at every race, even when she crashes or is just last! It’s pretty obvious that she lives her life to have fun and in her words…..I’ve already won!
